A: The significant information that I learned from these interviews was that times were hard for many people especially for the working man, and sometimes women. This was best shown during the interview with Alice Caudle here. She started working at the mills when she was just 10 years old, she was so little she needed to stand on a box in order to reach her work. Another example is Mr. Garavelli who worked as a stonecutter as he said in his interview here. Stonecutting was very dangerous many people died on the job, due to some disease called silica. Luckily for Mr. Garavelli he isn't exposed to it much at his positon in the shed. But it is still a very tough job.
